q = q.Where(place => place.PlaceStatus?.Key == this.Status.Key);
but have to write the old style check...
q = q.Where(place => place.PlaceStatus != null
&& place.PlaceStatus.Key == this.Status.Key);
Hopefully, Microsoft will fix this in a future release.
